What you'll walk out with

Your certification roadmap.

Before you register, WBENC requires:

  • Your business is already formed and operating as a for-profit business — certification is for a business that exists, not an idea
  • At least 51% of the business is owned by one or more women
  • A woman owner runs the day to day — and you’ll be asked to prove it in a face-to-face interview, not just on paper
  • You are a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident
  • You can produce the paperwork: formation documents, ownership records, tax returns, financial statements, and proof of citizenship

In North Texas, WBENC certification runs through the Women’s Business Council – Southwest (WBCS). MBE and DBE are separate programs with their own requirements. Check the current rules before you apply: WBENC (national) · Women’s Business Council – Southwest
